MIL-RITE MASA/NIXTAMAL GRINDING ATTACHMENT

This steel attachment is used for grinding Masa, Nixtamal or any other wet or moist grains with your Mil-Rite or Mil-Master mill. This attachment is not designed to process sprouted grains, i.e. wheat. A wooden dowel (included with attachment) can be used to push the corn or wet wheat or any other grains through the funnel hole to expedite the grinding process. Grinding Masa and Nixtamal involves a different grinding method than grinding regular dry grains such as wheat and corn. The output of this Masa attachment is about half of the standard output of regular dry grains. It is recommended to soak the corn IN WATER in food grade calcium hydroxide (part # RPCH1 (1 LB CONTAINER)or RPCH2 (2LB CONTAINER )anywhere from 3 to 7 days before grinding. To achieve fastest results, you may want to use the worm auger (Part # RP21) specifically designed for grinding soaked grains. There is a learning curve involved in grinding Masa and Nixtamal. It would be the consumer's responsibility to master the technique involved in grinding Masa or Nixtamal with properly prepared grains using food grade Calcium Hydroxide. Please note that none of our mills are Masa and/or Nixtamal grinders specially designed for that application. Our mills are designed primarily for processing dry grains. With this grinding attachments designed for Masa and the worm auger designed for grinding soaked grains (Part # RP21)you should be bale to process 1-2 cups of Masa per minute providing the corn ground is soaked 3-7 days in properly prepared brimming solution before using. None of our grain mills are designed for commercial application, i.e. restaurant and bakeries, but can by used in a commercial setting if the larger machines are purchased with the proper attachments in place. This attachment is a special order item and 50% restocking fee will be accessed for this item if returned within 30 days of receipt of merchandise. There is a 10 year warranty on this item.
